Sunday at Ivy Tech Community College is College Goal Day…
Terre Haute has welcomed back College Goal Sunday, according to WHTI. This weekend, hundreds of students gathered at Ivy Tech Community College to receive assistance with their FASFA applications.
Professors of financial assistance from all throughout Indiana gave their time on Sunday to assist college-bound kids with their FAFSA applications in 39 different communities.
The filling season's inaugural event was this one.
Experts from Rose-Hulman, Indiana State University, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, and Ivy Tech Community College came in Terre Haute to assist local students.
Ivy Tech's financial aid director, Julie Wonderlin, discussed the significance of students attending events of this nature.
We want to make sure they submit their FAFSA so they can start off on the right foot, she said. If students apply before April 15th and are residents of Indiana who are attending an Indiana institution, they might be eligible for additional state funding.
Wonderlin has more than 20 years of experience in the field of financial aid.
She claims that although though the FASFA application period is open until April of next year, individuals who finish it earlier have a better chance of receiving scholarship funding.
She added that some of the monies were awarded on a first-come, first-served basis by the colleges they were intending to apply to. Therefore, submitting your FAFSA application early and finalising your plans will help you access some additional free money that you might not otherwise be able to.
Wonderlin said that if you couldn't make it to the event on Sunday, feel free to visit the campus any day of the week for FAFSA assistance.
